CHRISTMAS IN YOUR HEART

Christmas In Your Heart

The song that followed me this Christmas was “Christmas Isn’t Christmas..”
What is Christmas and what isn’t Christmas? Mm….
It opens with the line “ Christmas isn’t Christmas till it happens in your heart”…I must admit that I was very emotional this Christmas. I guess it happened in my heart.
In so many ways Jesus was so close this time. Long before Christmas I received a call from Mary, my dear friend from primary school days. “Shall I bring you here..? “ she wondered aloud. Well..the answer was “yes” and it gave me another chance to listen to what Jesus was telling me…
I came as a body painter to cheer up the refugees. Yet all the time there was something else happening. When the Head Teacher of the group gave her speech it hit me. She said..” today we feel free”.
A gift of freedom..that was what she felt. Yes, I painted many dolphins and one eagle and perhaps a hundred or more roses..Yet , it was a transformation that was being painted by all of us being there with the love of the Good Shephard covering us.
We were safe and we were free. When we taste freedom..it just makes us hunger for more freedom. Freedom for what? For me I just want to commit myself to helping all who are unable somehow to be free to be who Jesus wants them to be.
I will be a servant for Jesus in this long walk to freedom.
All who were there felt Christmas in their hearts.
“Somewhere deep inside you is where Christmas really starts..”
