Come To Me

Come to me over the water Peter
Walk on the waves of the stormy sea
I know your boat is frail and fragile
But believe in me
I can do anything
When faith doesnt weaken
See the sea sleeps in the palm of my hand
He who believes will never be wanting for anything
For anything

My people called out from the burning desert
I turned a rock to a bubbling stream
He who believes will never be wanting for anything
For anything

A SPECIAL PERSON

I wrote about the flowers that bloomed when Reuben came home. You can take a look at how lovely they were. I say "were" because as mysterious as it was .. when they bloomed after he got back from the airport... they wilted when he went to the airport. Since then..no more blooms appeared.

That posting was entitled "Plants Can Love".. one reader responded in this manner. He said...that person must really be a very loving person for the plant to bloom only when he is around. He is a special person.

Ya.. Reuben ...you are...

Joseph And The Many Coloured Cloak

One of my favourite stories. There was this young man who was given a many coloured cloak by his father. Somehow his older brothers became jealous thinking he would get all the inheritence. They sold him to a slave trader. They got his cloak and tore it and put animal blood on it.

They told their father he was dead and showed the cloak as proof.

As it turned out Joseph eventually got into the good books of the Pharoah because he could interpret the Pharoah's dreams

He was made the chief minister. It happened that Joseph's brothers' land experienced famine and they came to get food from the Pharoah. You see Joseph had taught the people how to store food when there is abundance. So when the famine came they had enough food.

What do you think happened when Josph saw his brothers coming for help...?

Mountain Birds

Mountain birds sometimes fly low. Why?
Because their beaks have become big and heavy. Their feathers have become thick and ragged. What do they do?

Mountain birds.. those who want to find a new self.. go to Eagle Mountain. To caves where they find courage. Becasue the process of finding e new self is pianfull.

Then if there are brave ones they begin. They rub their heavy beaks against the rough walls. Till their beaks a smaller and lighter. They pull out their old feathers.

They are open and unprotected. They hurt.

They see new feathers grow.

Then they emerge and fly higher.

WHY OBAMA, MICHELLE AND AL GORE?

Because they can move a real audience of thousands and through
the you tube millions.. billions. And so can you..eagles. When you are ready a Teacher will come. My teachers are all these people I am sharing with you. I guess I was ready and so they came into my life. Who is your Teacher? And I am not talking about the one who is preparing you for exams ..Tell me about the people who are lifting you as eagles... and we will have more teachers in this sky , in this Eagle mountain..

Attribution Theory

Now I usually take theories with a pinch of salt. But this is one of my favourite theories. I first learnt about it when someone in Flinders Uni, Adelaide talked about " Locus of Control" . It means where do we see the key to our success. Is it inside us or outside us?

If we have an internal locus of control we feel the key is in us and if we wana change something we go ahead and do it. Thats me : )

If we have an external locus of control we feel that things happen to us because of factors lying outside us.. so we have no control over them.

To a certain extent, if a hurricane comes along,..we do not have control over the situation. Like now in New Orleans. They are trying to get the people to pack up and go because its gonna be "the mother of storms".
Sheesh... what a poor way of using the image of a mother. Why not call it the Father of all storms ? Who is more stormy you tell me?

But even in a hurricane situation you can have an internal locus of control. You can decide to leave before it's too late. No doubt you lose whatever you have ( for the second time ). But would you rather be caught in the storm?

Now when it comes to freedom, to what extent do you have an internal locus of control?

What about feelings in a relationship? Do you have an internal locus of control or an external locus of control?
